Bholu was getting better. In his further interviews, he showed remorse for his actions. He had gone through a painful childhood himself. His father was a decent and pious man. He was hardworking and in a big family debt, as he had to marry off three of his sisters. Bholu’s grandfather had died of an unknown condition and in his prime.

Bholu’s father was indebted to many people, and he worked through the day and for most of the night. He was trying to make his ends meet and give basic livelihood to his own family. Bholu’s mother was indifferent to her husband and increasingly became cut-off and difficult to deal with.

However, over time, Bholu’s mother got into illicit relationships, alcohol, and drugs. She became wild and violent. Bholu was still a kid. She would hit him violently and would affectionately play with him while she was sober. Slowly, her condition became abysmal. Bholu’s father was of no help to her as he continued to slog. Bholu had a father who was never there and a mother who was horror personified. He had no clue how to handle her. At a young age, he tried to stay away from her and out with his friends. He knew whenever he would be back home, he would get a spanking.

His mother believed in corporal punishment. She did not like his absence from the house. She wanted him to help her with her cooking et al. He did not like to see the face of the other men who frequented his house. One of those afternoons, while his mother was making love to a stranger, Bholu had picked up a knife and pushed it inside the thigh of the guy. That guy writhed in pain. A lot of blood oozed out. Bholu’s mother got some first aid and bandaged his thigh. He went out of the house in a poor condition, never to get back again. All he did was hit Bholu rather hard on his temple. Bholu had an immense headache and he could not see for a moment as he had collapsed.

He got the attention of his mother only once her lover disappeared. She massaged his head slowly with some hair oil and gave him tulsi kadha to drink. She hugged Bholu to herself and gave him all the love that he secretly wished for. That was, however, the last he saw of her. While he slept because of a lot of pain in his head, and with heartfelt love for his mother, snugging into her bosom; she left the house forever. Never to be back again. A year later, his father told him they found her lying in a pit, raped, and murdered. She had a violent death and Bholu had an increasingly violent and disturbing childhood.

That was the cause for his problems. He could never become an honorable family man. He could reason with himself, and his mental condition had improved. They sent Bholu back to jail to serve his sentence.
